Animal House Boarding and Doggy Daycare
Position: Dog Care Associate
The Dog Care Associate position is a part-time position who reports directly to the
Manager. The Dog Care Associate’s responsibilities will be performed during regular business hours and will not exceed a maximum of 30 hours per week. As the facility is operational 24/7/365, weekend and holiday coverage will be expected.
The Dog Care Associate has two primary areas of responsibility: Dog Care Services and Facility Operations. This position requires more than just petting dogs all day.
Dog Care Services encompass providing safe, healthy, enriching and fun service to
Animal House clients during their stay at Animal House.
Dog Care Services duties include but are not limited to:
● Maintain accurate records of all clients - including veterinary records, behavioral records, feeding instructions, medication instructions, etc...
● New dog intake and assessment of suitability to off-leash playgroups
● Supervise off-leash play in the doggy daycare facility
● Promote safe and healthy play environments
● Assist with feeding and care of boarding dogs in addition to supervision of daycare playgroups
● Administer first-aid as needed (Pet CPR and First-Aid Certification required post-hire date)
Facility Operations may include a variety of responsibilities required for keeping the facility a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff. Communicating operations issues and solutions to the Manager is essential for maximum efficiency.
Facility Operations duties include but are not limited to:
● Maintain a clean environment by properly disposing of dog waste, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, cleaning boarding rooms, and any other duties as determined by Animal House Management.
● Following all Policies and Procedures provided by Animal House Management
● Safe and appropriate handling of all chemicals and other hazardous materials.
● Handle emergency situations (e.g. illness, power outage, fire, etc.) that occur.
Have a continued awareness of situations that may have emergency potential.
Qualifications:
● Education: Dog handling skills and experience in a boarding or daycare setting preferred.
● Physical Skills: Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and must be able to work outdoors in all non-life threatening conditions.
● Computer Skills: Basic email, database and social media skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour starting
30 day trial period for each new employee.
